Exceptional Students I Exceptional Supports
Our vision is to redefine possibilities for students with diverse behavioral, emotional, and neurodevelopmental needs. Through a seamless, full-day, year-round ecosystem of dedicated educators, specialized therapists, and psychiatric care, we foster resilience, champion individuality, and build the foundational skills our students need to navigate the world with confidence.
The referral process is initiated by one of our public school district partners. A school district representative will send the following items when referring a student to Metro Prep and Laureate:
Students who do not have an established IEP will be considered for diagnostic placement. During this period of time, not to exceed 60 days, the evaluation process will be initiated, data will be gathered from formal and informal assessments and then all information will be shared with the student’s multi-disciplinary team, including parents, in order to create a plan to help the student continue to move forward and encounter success in the learning environment.
Following initiation of the referral process, Administration will contact the parent/guardian for a tour of the campus and to hear about what our program has to offer. As long as the public school district representing the student, and the parent are in agreement that Metro Prep and Laureate Day Schools can meet the needs of the student, the parent/guardian will be asked to complete the registration process with Metro Prep and Laureate Day Schools. Once this process is completed, the administration will let the school district representative know they can set up transportation for the student, confirming the expected start date.
Any public school representative can contact Tricia Elsner, Principal, at pelsner@metroprep.org to discuss referrals. While we are more than willing to speak with parents about our program and what it has to offer, please understand that the public school district your child attends must be the entity to make a formal referral for your student to attend Metro Prep and Laureate Day Schools.
